Our beliefs and behaviors are a product of lifelong learning, affirming, actions & reactions, emotional influences, experiences, stories, lore and cultural paradigms, which include traditions, mores, and other societal influences.

In order to change outcomes, sometimes we need to address or overcome old ways of thinking in order to produce different results.
